Cocoa Webview no longer plays Java applets in OS X 10.9 with the latest Oracle plugin

I have a 64-bit Cocoa Webview application that was used to play Java applets using the Oracle Java plugin under OS X 10.7.3 - 10.9. At some point, it stopped working, presumably with one of the updates for Webkit or the Oracle plugin. I am running the latest OS, plugin and Xcode with all updates. All inclusive (Java, plugins, etc.) For Webview.

Now what happens is that there is only an empty place where the applet should appear, and there are no hints or errors. I am testing applets on the Oracle Java website and on javatester.org. I tried a separate Cocoa web viewer application and it has the same problem. This happens regardless of the server, applet or plug-in settings in the system settings.

I am aware of the latest security issues with Java. I can force Safari and Firefox to use the Oracle Java plugin on my system, but only if the correct browser settings and the settings for the Oracle plugin are managed properly.

For example, if I install Firefox to "always activate" Java applets, I still have to enable Java for browsers in the plugin settings and add the necessary servers to the white list. Safari allows you to maintain the whitelist entirely within Safari if you want, but it still requires the plugin settings to be set to enable Java for browsers. This is all uncomfortable, but at least it is understandable and workable.

Interestingly, if the plugin’s settings are NOT set to enable Java for browsers, both Safari and Firefox act just like my own application, displaying only empty space for the applet without prompts or errors. This seems to indicate that the plugin somehow cannot be loaded into standard Cocoa Webview.

Firefox Webkit, Safari. , Safari Java, Webkit , Webkit, , . Chrome, 64-, Oracle. 64- Cocoa Webview, Oracle.
