Converting an app from a paid in-app purchase? How to find out which users paid?

I think I remember reading somewhere that there is a way to determine if the user paid for your application or not.

I’m considering the possibility of switching from a paid purchase in the application and would like to know how I can check if the user was previously paid, and therefore, he should receive all purchases in the application for free.
