Testing versions of Internet Explorer in February 2014: browserstack, saucelabs, ghostLab, spoon and other tools

I am currently (February 2014) trying to find the best tool to do testing Internet Explorer (IE8, IE9, etc.) .

I found that my options were as follows:

• Launch any web browser instantly from the Internet using: www.browserstack.com , saucelabs.com , ghostLab or www.spoon.net

• Launch IE VM from Modern.IE project (for testing IE web browsers)

• One Windows VM + multiple standalone versions of Internet Explorer using http://utilu.com/IECollection/ (for testing IE web browsers)

• Dedicated Windows virtual machines for each version of IE (for testing IE web browsers)

  4.a) Launch several Windows XP modes (on Windows 7): "Windows XP mode is an optional downloadable feature of Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate that provides a preinstalled Windows XP SP3 image that you run Windows Virtual PC."   4.b) Run several MS Windows XP SP3 virtual machines with VM software: you can use VirtualBox, VMware, etc.
